I didn't set out to do this work.

I needed it first.

Hi, I’m Patty.

Self-Health Coach™,
Speaker, and Author

This is the work I do because it’s the work that changed how I live. It taught me to be honest with myself, intentional in my choices, and connected to what I need instead of pushing through everything.

My Story

I built a life that looked great on the outside. On the inside, I was lost.

I'd started a business with no idea what I was doing. I poured everything into it. Time, energy, identity. I chased security, safety, success. I told myself if I just pushed harder, it would all come together.

It didn't.

My mental and physical health suffered. My marriage ended. And somewhere in the middle of all that achieving, I lost my SELF. I was so focused on building a successful future for me and my family, I couldn't see that I abandoned my SELF in the process.

That was my wake-up call.

I didn't need another strategy. I didn't need more discipline. I needed to stop long enough to ask myself a question I'd been avoiding for years: Who am I when I'm not performing for everyone else?

The answer wasn't immediate. But finding it changed everything.

This is the part most people never talk about… but everyone feels. This is the part most people never talk about… but everyone feels. This is the part most people never talk about… but everyone feels. This is the part most people never talk about… but everyone feels. This is the part most people never talk about… but everyone feels. This is the part most people never talk about… but everyone feels.

The Turning Point

As I started paying attention, I realized I'd been living with a relentless inner critic for years. It disguised itself as motivation, but it was running me into the ground.

The Positive Intelligence® (PQ) framework gave me language for what was happening. I could finally name the mental patterns, the Saboteurs, that were hijacking my thinking, and see them clearly enough to interrupt them.

But the real shift went deeper than thinking. I had to rebuild my relationship with my whole self: how I moved, how I ate, how I rested, and how I lived.

Self-compassion wasn't weakness.

It was the foundation I'd been missing all along. That process became what I now call Self-Health. Not self-care, not productivity hacks, but the practice of understanding yourself and learning to lead your life from awareness instead of autopilot.

What I Do

Today, I work with people who are living the same story I lived. Capable, high-performing people who look like they have it together but feel disconnected or quietly exhausted on the inside.

I help them see what's actually going on beneath the surface and give them practical tools to reconnect with themselves, not by blowing up their lives, but by making honest, sustainable changes that stick.

My first book, Optimal Health Made Simple: The 4 Keys to Thriving in Mind and Body, is coming soon. It's built around four pillars: Train Right, Eat Right, Rest Right, Live Right. It's the framework I use with everyone I work with. Not perfection. Just attention.

Whether I'm on a stage, in a coaching session, or writing a chapter, the message is the same: You don't need more discipline. You need to stop abandoning yourself.

Where this work began

30+ years of working with real people, real bodies, and real lives

Long before I became a Self-Health Coach™, I was a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant helping people rebuild their strength after life-changing injuries and events.

That work taught me something that still drives everything I do: lasting change doesn't come from pushing harder. It comes from listening more closely to what your body and mind are telling you.

That principle carried me from the rehab clinic into strength training, and eventually to founding Rock Solid Fitness in Dunedin, Florida, where I've spent over a decade helping people build real, sustainable strength.

Professional Contributions & Impact

I created High Intensity SAFE Strength Training™ (HIST), a method that blends physical therapy principles with science-backed resistance training.

I serve on advisory boards for health and exercise science programs.

And I've spoken nationally to business leaders, healthcare providers, and fitness professionals about what it actually takes to stay strong, independent, and well for life.

This background isn't separate from my Self-Health work. It's the foundation of it. Understanding how the body works, and how stress shows up physically, how movement affects mood, and how rest impacts decision-making, is what makes this approach different. It's whole-person work, grounded in real experience, not theory.

A little more about me

Some fun stuff.

If we were sitting together over coffee and you asked me who I am, I would probably smile and say something like this…

I am part science nerd, part straight-talking coach, and part fiercely loyal friend who just happens to believe, with my whole heart, that you are capable of far more than you’ve been told.

Outside the studio and the stage, I am happiest in deep conversation over a meal, laughing with family and friends, walking in nature, or with my nose in a book about self-improvement, leadership, business, or the human body.

At home, I will gladly admit that my cat, PeeWee, runs the show and keeps me on a very tight schedule.

I am endlessly curious and always learning, not because I have to, but because I truly love understanding how people work and how to help them heal, grow, and thrive.
